    Default Safety Question

I have an FAL lower that's used on a "hybrid" gun and it has a safety that's just a round cylinder shape, I've seen a safety that's oval shaped also.

Do these interchange? And what would I look for or ask for if I wanted to get one of the oval ones?

You mean the shape of the "thumbpiece"? The larger ones are from a British L1A1 variant. IIRC, the tail on the triggers is different so it won't work on a metric without mods. DSA does make a metric version though:
