Without pics this is just a guess, but it's probably from a South African-manufactured R1 that saw service in Rhodesia (based on the "RA" number which is most likely electro-penciled on the right side). If the lower has remnants of camo paint or if you find a "P in an oval" proof mark (South Africa Military Small-Arms Proof) that will pretty much clinch it. Try a search on FALfiles.com to find out more info on the Rhodesian FALs.
