    Wilmette`s handgun ban is dead. The village board voted Tuesday night 7-0 to repeal the 19-year-old ban, following 45 minutes of discussion and public comment.

    Read the story, they simply don't have the tax revenue to fight any lawsuits, so they repealed it to eliminate that possibilty. No "we were wrong", just "we are broke" Once several test cases have happened and if some "reasonable regulations" pass legal muster you can bet they will be back with a new ordinance cut and pasted from a successful case.

    The guy they fined $750 for shooting an intruder should definitely sue them for a refund though!
