The Mumbai police have tightened the screws for issuing arms licenses to the public. While last year, from January to July, the police issued 116 arms licenses, this year, the figure has gone down to 96. The police said after the terror attack, they received around 150 applications for revolvers and guns from builders, celebrities, hoteliers, politicians and security agency staff. However, they did not issue licenses to all as they followed very stringent guidelines for it.
