After previously opting out of the new park carry legislation, the city of Knoxville will considering removing the offending ordinance on Tuesday, August 25. This previously passed ordinance currently prohibits the possession of a firearm for self-defense in local parks, even if you have obtained your permit to carry. It is very important that you attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend, please contact the City Mayor and Council Members and respectfully urge them to support this city ordinance. To contact Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and members of the City Council, please call 865-215-2040.
