The lawmaker who sponsored a bill to make carrying weapons in the State House a felony will stand by her bill. On Friday, the Joint Legislative Facilities Committee, which includes House and Senate leaders, reaffirmed a ban on carrying guns in the State House. But Rep. Valerie Hardy, a Litchfield Democrat, said she will still push for a House committee to recommend a bill that would make carrying guns a felony and would allow for the installation of metal detectors.
