The Chicago City Council on Friday unanimously passed a tough set of restrictions to control the use, sale and even transport of guns in the city. The approval came four days after the U.S. Supreme Court effectively tossed out Chicago's longstanding ban on handguns. Mayor Richard M. Daley introduced the gun restrictions Thursday and aldermen approved the ordinance 45 to 0.

An anonymous poster summed it up quite well...

The Supreme Court has confirmed that the 2nd Amendment is an individual RIGHT and applied to the states and cities. This right is protected just as the other rights we have. How would everyone react if the mayor and city counsel passed the following ordinance?

Key provisions of the ordinance:

•Bible sales will be banned in the city.

•State approved religious training totaling four hours in a classroom and an hour on a state run church will be required before getting a permit. But state run churches are banned, so training must be completed outside Chicago.

•To transport a Bible, it will have to be "broken down," not immediately accessible, pages torn out, and in an unmarked case.

•Bibles may be possessed only inside the dwelling. It will be illegal to have a Bible in the garage, on the front porch or in the yard. Bibles also will not be allowed in hotels, dorms and group-living facilities.

RESPECT the Constitution and our CIVIL RIGHTS!
