Does any one know of a good place to read up on the basic things to do before firing a new Saiga? The so called service manual that came with the gun is a piece of crap. My Saiga was made in 2009. I had a previous post about a scope mount rail. Some responders are saying it should have one and it might but I am very new to this type of rifle and am not sure what the rail looks like. The crap manual should be giving me this information, I would think.
So, again, Is there a better place to read up on what I should be doing before I test fire my new Saiga?
Bigdog, your Saiga should be ready to go to the range stright out of the box. A few things to do fist.
1 Remove the top Cover by pushing on the rear spring, and lifting off the top cover.
2 Remove the bolt carrier and bolt, by pulling to the rear. Pay attention to what you are doing.
3 Clean barrel and chamber, to remove any grease or dirt.
4 Remove gas tub, and clean.
5 Put back together, and have fun at the range or pits.
Actually look for any AK47 manual, I don't know why I didn't think of it last night, but the Saiga is basicly an AK.
