Default Very new to Saiga 7.62x39

Does any one know of a good place to read up on the basic things to do before firing a new Saiga? The so called service manual that came with the gun is a piece of crap. My Saiga was made in 2009. I had a previous post about a scope mount rail. Some responders are saying it should have one and it might but I am very new to this type of rifle and am not sure what the rail looks like. The crap manual should be giving me this information, I would think.

So, again, Is there a better place to read up on what I should be doing before I test fire my new Saiga?

Bigdog, your Saiga should be ready to go to the range stright out of the box. A few things to do fist.
1 Remove the top Cover by pushing on the rear spring, and lifting off the top cover.
2 Remove the bolt carrier and bolt, by pulling to the rear. Pay attention to what you are doing.
3 Clean barrel and chamber, to remove any grease or dirt.
4 Remove gas tub, and clean.
5 Put back together, and have fun at the range or pits.

    Hope this helps.

This isn't great either, I'll look for something better.

The scope rail is on the left side of the receiver, it looks like this.

    Thanks for the replies.

The link is sure better than the crappy manual with the book. Funny someone who has been around these rifles a great deal hasn't written a new manual.

Actually look for any AK47 manual, I don't know why I didn't think of it last night, but the Saiga is basicly an AK.
