I've had my .223 for over a year, and as a native English speaker always pronounced it "say-ga". Some dudes at the range pronounce it various different ways.
How do y'all pronounce "Saiga"?
I'll have to re-learn my pronunciation, as that's the most common one I hear at the Pensacola Pistol and Rifle club.
and bonus trivia- a Saiga is a type of antelope
Penrose CO - home of Estes Rockets!!!
Who cares? I don't pronounce Russia as Rooseeyah like a native Ruskaya from Mat Rodina would. I don't pronounce Austria Oeste-rike.Why should I pronounce Saiga as a native Russian would? The English pronunciation of that word would be Say-ga .

^^^ Ha, beat by two minutes.
I was looking at some dream job openings they had a few years back when they were looking to develop new toys for their acquired COX division.(the model engine co)
R&D for Nitro fuel-burning toys!! I almost applied, but decided to stick with network engineering... commute would have been easy, and it would have been a blast, but probably a cut in pay...
As far as pronunciation, anybody that would be pissed for pronouncing it one way or another isn't worth arguing with (or being around)... I do like the Sega sound byte-
Nalioth and Lunyfringe are right. Every time I went into a gun shop and asked about SAIGA'S - They said "You mean Say-ga's?" So, I asked two of my Russian friends..... They both said it was pronounced Sigh-ga and they were both familiar with the guns.
