I guess no one had a idea of actually converting a saiga, only buy store bought parts and throw them on a gun, the same type of conversion that hordes of others have done.....
Plenty of people have had the idea, but unfortunately there isn't an easy way to convert it without using the ability to use shot due to the spreading effects a rifled barrel has on the shot density.
So unless you want to stick with a dedicated slug Saiga, the best bet for rifled functionality is to use a "paradox" rifled choke or barrel extension. If you can find one, that is! They are usually as expensive as a new barrel
I'm currently working up slug loads and hope to have suitable accuracy out to about 100 yards. If I could find a suitable rifled barrel I would be tempted to sacrifice it to make my own rifled choke extension.
just ordered the choke adapter for the saiga 12. the idea of being able to swap out choke tubes to tighten up the shot pattern is a great idea. now, where to find a rifled choke tube????
If you had a rifled slug barrel couldn't you use a rifled choke extension with straight rifling like the new tarus judge carbine has for when people shoot shot with it? Though where to get one who knows
Cobra76 makes those also. He is on the Saiga 12 Forum.
