    Question How to convert a 10 round mag to a 5 ???

Looking for some help on temporarily converting a 10 round Saiga 7.62x39 magazine to a 5 round magazine. I had a person from the Nebraska game dept. tell me to pin it. What the heck does that involve? I was going to put a piece of wood of some type at the bottom of the mag to take up space. I would like to make it a temporary change so I can use it as a 10 round mag later. I know there is a 5 round mag but looking to save a little money and thought I could have the best of both worlds this way.

    My Questions:
    1. Does anyone know how much space I would need to take up for 5 cartridges? I know I could experiment but thought maybe someone has already done this.
    2. Would pinning be better/ easier that a block of wood?
    3. What does pinning involve.

    Thanks in advance.

Stick a block in it. Easier to reverse.

Take the floorplate out and put 5 rounds in the mag, then fit the block so that the floorplate can just be put back on. Belt sander makes quick work of fitting the block.

Now that was very good information. I figured someone has done this before.

    Thanks
