    Default Questions about SBR app.

Looking to send away for my stamp in the near future & want to TRY to make sure I get it right the first time.

    http://www.gunco.net/forums/f111/how...pproval-28200/

I have gone over this thread & wish to know if this is still the correct proceedure for an individual to apply. I've read on another forum Considerations for Building a Short Barreled Rifle as an Individual or an NFA Trust that a ATF F 5320.4 (Form 4) is required.?
Would the Form 4 be in addition to the ATF Form F1 (5320.1) & the ATF Form F 5330.20? The Form 4 also seems to be asking for an additional payment or is it just the $200 for the Form 1?
Are the FBI FD-258LE finger print cards fairly standard with police deptartments or will I have to send away for them? I know, call & ask right!
Are the passport photos attached with staples or is there some other method that they prefer?
That's all I can think of for now! More questions to follow.

The form 4 is only used to transfer an NFA item, tax paid. What you would fill out and file if you were buying a completed gun from a dealer or individual. Since you are making the thing, the form 1 and supporting items (fingerprint card, statement) are all you need to fill out and send in. Write ATF and get the "package", they will send you the proper forms you need. the fingerprint form is "standard" , but the one you get from ATF will already be filled out with the proper "originating agency" filled in as needed. Your local PD will have a blank form. Wrong info, it won't get processed.

Don't forget you have to send TWO of the form ones.

You need to check your state laws also. My state requires you to hold some type of FFL in order to own any NFA item.

Why are you looking on other sites? You know you can find all the answers here
I'll be doing the same thing shortly as soon as I get funds, so ask as many questions as you feel like, it will most likely help me too

In PA you just need to file the paper work and get approved.

Thank you for the info. I found this page for ordering the proper forms.
    Distribution Center Order Form
The old link is no longer active.
Of course when I submitted my request it came up "invalid". Don't want to click submit again for fear of angering someone!
John, why don't you give it a try and see if it works for you. Order a couple extra

Sure I'll try to order them from the link, but want to be sure what is needed.
    Is it just the F1 (5320.1) & FBI FD-258FA?
Kernel mentioned "statement", is that something that comes with the finger print card?

    It's a seperate form.
    Form F 5330.20 - Certificate of Compliance
And the finger print card is the FBI FD-258LE
To the best of my knowledge!

Thanks for pointing out the finger print card number, and the Certificate of Compliance.

I put an order in for two of each, let's see if they show up

When you get the form, post and ask kernel and he will help you with any questions.. Really kind of easy. They will cash your check the day before it gets there, then the wait begins..
I did about 4, filled out improperly, poor lady at the ATF offered to drive here and help me fill the damn thing out.
Call your local P.D. and see what days they do fingerprinting..
I went on the wrong day and an Officer was in the parking lot watching prisoners pick up trash..
    "Sorry wrong day."
How about if I throw a rock through the window, will they finger print me.?"
He said "Sure that will get them done."
Prisoners thought it was funny, guy did not laugh, no sense of humor..
Ran into a female Deputy I know, she got me in and done..
I may do some more, they may or may not turn out to be like "full auto stamps" way things are going...
