I notice that several companies sell recoil buffers for the Mini-14. Years ago I bought one for my older "pencil barrel" Mini. I have shot it some. I don't notice much difference. My newer rifle with the tapered barrel is still completely stock. I have yet to shoot it. I better do it soon in case a problem comes up.
My question is: Do I need a recoil buffer in a Mini? Does it help to prolong the life of the gun. Does it reduce recoil-which is not much to start with? Could I switch the one I have on the older gun to the newer gun and then switch them back and forth as needed?
I'd love to hear some opinions on the use of Recoil buffers!
