Real - legal - FA is now out of sight for this boy. The cheapest, most common FA guns range upward from $3500 now. The ammo costs really add up.

I'll take semi-auto with the occasional bump fire.

I only wish the range nazis would let me shoot something other than a black circle.

An old Volkswagen or TV would be nice.
i can afford (sorta) full auto rifle.

but i can not afford the ammo to feed it.

    Default AK47 "out-of-battery"

    Zodian,
I totally agree, it is very annoying to hear total newbies say how EASY it is; to covert their semi-auto to full-auto. The "filed-down" disconnecter technique is very dangerous: after time, the weapon will continue to fire, even after the operator has released the trigger. I may be wrong; But I believe your statement "...there is nothing to prevent a semi-auto AK from firing out of battery..."; is not entirely true. The "nub" (highlighted in the picture below) on the rear of the bolt carrier; is designed, as a passive safety mechanism: preventing the hammer from striking the firing pin; while the bolt is out-of-battery.

Zoid; thanks for posting that. It's something that experienced gun people know, but the way you stated the facts makes it very plain to those who may not know exactly why they do not need to screw around in the FCG of self-loading firearms.

    How"s 10 years/10,000 fine sound to you?

Well, thats exactly what you are in store for. I do not understand why the distributors of the Romy G kits included most FA parts in their kits?

I,for one immediately tossed mine in the trash, once I realized once they were!!!!!!!-Only thing missing was the FA disconnector. The whole deal sounds like a TRAP to me.-Thats why I'm having a FFL,builder etc.) put together mine for me.

They can search all they want, because I pitched those parts.-They can talk to the guy who built it 922R compliant.

Did the pic get switched? Anyway, that tells the story very well.As much fun as full auto is,if you can't do it legal, don't do it.As far as 'people you trust',a secret between two people is only safe if one of them is dead. And shooting at the little black targets-I am lucky to live in an isolated area,no ranges nearby, shoot in old sandpits, etc.A friend has a auto junkyard, every once in a while I bring an old junk car there and shoot it up-much more fun,and it adds to the weight when he crushes it!! ---bil
