Default Polish Underfolder AK-47 Parts kit from Sportman's Guide

Just got a catalog a couple days ago from The Sportsman's Guide with a Polish Military Surplus AK-47 Parts Kit with under-folding stock right on the front cover, it doesn't say if it is for a stamped or milled receiver though, I even called them and not even their product specialist know which type it is. Anyone else seen this and can identify it by the parts? Thanks

Thanks, I looked at some pictures on the internet and you are right. I called Sportsmans and, guess what, now they say they only have it with a wood stock, not the one on the front of the catalog, (false advertising?) the product number on the website confirms this, don't think I will buy it from them, I saw another one with a complete barrel for $599, seems a little high, but will look for one with a barrel, would be much easier.

richr.. Keep your eyes open for an already built AK.. If your set up with building tools and all their are some deals to be had on kits.. Building is fun and can still be done.. But if the prices get to crazy on a kit, I would shop for one already built..
Within reason, a lot of AK parts are interchangeable.. Some good "Franken" AKs can be built, if you take your time gathering parts.
Lot of good knowledgeable builders here that can help tell you what will fit on what.. I saw that advertised on Sportmans guide..
Keep yer eyes open on the "Classified Forum." Hit the fun shows also, people are selling and their are deals to be had.. Hell I would buy an AR before I went to crazy on prices of an expensive kit.. Welcome to the forum and ask, guys will help yah...

    Welcome to the forum

As 4th said, unless your tooled up to do a build, you'd most likely be better off getting an assembled rifle since the parts kits are selling for almost the same price

Thanks for all the replies, I may be a new guy to this forum but I have been dealing with firearms for 30 years. What is the price of freedom? Yes, I would probably spend over $500 for a build, another question, every time you buy a gun from a gun dealer and go thru the background check, does that not go to a permanent database with the feds? I know they say it doesn't. Look at what happened in Australia.

Who knows now, but it didn't before BigO got in, the only records kept were the books at the gun shop.

And no one is trying to give you a hard time about buying or building, most of us were into this when the basic price of kits were a hundred or less and expensive kits were double that, most assembled rifles were two to three hundred.
Most (me included) don't accept the current prices of kits now because they don't have barrels and some other major parts, and the prices have gone up four or five times what they should be. Complete rifles are the same way as price is concerned, but if you can get a rifle for a little more then a kit, you might as well go that route because almost all store bought ones have a warranty.
    My two cents

Ran across this, but no first hand experience. Haven't bought anything from them in 10 years.

I saw this after I bought the $300 kit. I've read on other forums they are good to go. They are even including a mag and cleaning kit? Feel like I got taken on the $300 kit now.......
