I have been an Enfield fan for years. Having owned several 303, I decided to get an Ishy 2A that had been sporterized by previous owner. I performed the rest of mods other than the barrel threading for the YHM muzzle brake. It has the XS scout scope mount with a relatively inexpensive scout scope. I am really happy with the performance of this bolt gun and would suggest to anyone wanting a tough old battle bolt gun.

I bought the rifle for 200 and spent another 250 on machining and parts. I did the dura coating and finish work myself.

It looks marvelous. I am envious! Mine is still in its plain jane military outfit. I hope mine shoots as good as yours looks!

Sorry I passed on the deal when Century had a zillion of them up for grabs.

I wish that I had moved a little sooner. I'd like to have at least two of them. But, if wishes were fishes.....

I am still trying to work out the back up sights for it. I need to find 30mm scope rings that are about 1/4 in taller to get my MBUS under the rear.

Mine can handle anything in a 50m Yard range real easy. Glad I snagged an extra 100 rounds for this one last year. .303 is almost untouchable these days.

    ISHAPORE is INDIAN?

One older INDIAN Engineer at work has heard of this one.

Yes, he fled INDIA for a better deal here in the USA.

I already had a pretty good pile of ammo in that caliber. However, it is mostly steel case. And, I read somewhere on the internet that steel case ammo should not be shot in the Ishapore. I don't know why. Most military ammo is steel cased anymore. Does anybody have any opinions about this?

This coming Sunday, my wife's sister is having her 85th birthday party. She wants to do it at the old country school house (now a private residence) she attended as a child. I think that I will take my Ishapore out there and try a few shots. It is way out in the boon docks. So, I'll just take a hike up the creek to do some banging.
