I saw that on another forum. That would be a nice thing to have. WOuld that be C&R? I will call about them to find out.

I just recently 'discovered " Sarco inc. after a buddy told me about them.

I ordered a Systema and a Ballester Molina Argentinian Po-Po .45 ACP's from them (Best condition) and a 1903A3 shooter. Still waiting to get them. They were nice people and called to say the barrel was shot out on one of the .45's so they were going to replace it with a new barrel at no cost and ship the original barrel with it. I thought that was real upstanding of them.

They also have some Chinese barrelled SKS recievers they have had sitting around for 20 years. I called about them and there is a slight price break for ordering more than 1. They are 01 FFL though since they are Chinese.

The only issue I'd ever run into with converting a 8mm to 06 & 308,was on some,,but not all, I had to re-work the extractor just a titch. Those were original Mauser actions, but I can't imagine there would be much difference in an aftermarket receiver if it is built to factory specs.

That's one of the real nice things about the Mauser actions, there quite versatile when converting to something other than the standard 8mm caliber.

If you do get one X39, post up you're impression of them, I've got the hankering for another Mauser style gun but good mil- surp. receivers are getting pretty hard to find now. Don't have much left for tools, but not a huge deal to get a barrel installed and head spaced, everything else I can still do, but no lath to use now.

If I do another one I'm going .308 again. I used the original 8mm bolt for my last build and it works perfectly. Anybody know what the difference is between a .30-06 head and a .308win?
They are identical, you are good to go. BTW: These are very fine actions, I have built two of them. And they are worth every penny.

308 was created by just shortening the .30-06. It's the same parent case.

Thanks for the feedback, Bellson. I might have to go ahead and spring for one.
