Default My new SS Taurus PT1911

Bought on 1/07 @$680 out the door.Had problem with some mags getting stuck
in the magwell.Found that the plunger stakes were not filed flat in the magwell.
Five minutes with a jewelers file and fixed the problem. Now all 1911 mags fit.
First fireing on 1/25-fired 200 Lee 200gr SWC handloads W/1.250 to 1.259 OAL.
    Used 8 different mags.No FTF,no FTE.
On 2/1,my stepson and myself took her out again.Fired 200rds of my Lee 230gr
LRN R2 ogive boolits useing 8 different mags. Stepson had two FTF on last round.
They were with the gunshow special nickle plated colt copys.Base plate reads
    19200-
    ASSY 5508694
    MFR. 30745
They were $12 mags and the best I could find at the Cincinnati Bill Goodman Show.
    other mags were 3 Kimber,2 Taurus,and 1 national 15rd stick.
    I know it's not American made,but it's a tricked out 1911 in SS and I like it.
Now if I can find a Norinco to use for a trunk gun.

    Default Nice piece!

    Hey Railbuggy,
That is one sweet piece! A few years back I had the parked PT 1911 and I loved it. There is not a 1911 on the market with all the custom upgrades that even comes close to the price point on the Taurus. Hold on to it. I had to sell mine back in the day due to a bad injury that left me fighting with friggin Workman's compensation. I finally replaced my PT 1911 with a Springfield GI model. It doesn't have all the upgrades of the PT1911 but its accurate as hell and eats everything that I feed it. I should name it "Mikey".
