Sweet I have been wondering how to bend these things without buyin an expensive jig... and I have a bunch of scrap steel out in my shed that was left here by the old man I bought my house from... some of it is rusty but could all be cleaned up.. im gonna bet almost everything I need is out there.. now if I can just get it without gettin bit by a spider or a snake

i was wondering how i could make my own receiver cheap. this is the greatest idea ever. i work at lowes so im going to pick up what i need tomorrow. hell it will be even cheaper with my employee discount. when i get my flats in i plan on making a video for youtube if im successful. anyone who has been successful that wants to throw in some more input. did you go the BFH route or pull it thru with bolts?

Never thought of that bolt thing. Be a lot more stable if ya welded endplates on her after getting the ID correct with the bolts. Great idea.

Can someone explain how to modify the poor man's jig to use with bolts, like Jroybal did back on page 10? I kind of get it, but I must be a little dense. I was just starting to grasp how this whole thing works. Any help will be appreciated.... going to try to bend my first flat this week.

Thanks for the info every body. I only wish I had learned of parts kits and the hobby of gunbuilding from those kits long before now. It really reminds me of the cars I build, taking a heap of scrap finding an engine to throw together, put her in and crank it up and hearing that rumbling sound for the first time... I am sorry, just rambling off on a tanget. Anybody get the subtle car reference there.

It's the mechanic, not the tools. Although better tools help.

I have a Yugo m64 kit that should arrive next week. This is the first build for me and I think I will put it together the way this guy did. The AK Files Forums - Yugo M64 Under Folder Taking Shape

    This jig is very clever.
