Again if I am wrong I will stand corrected, again great job and great pic's

the bren reweld has atf approval and I assume the mg42 do but I don't follow those threads, but on the class 3 sites the folks are say no rewelds on the mg-34/42, also pssh trunnions were removed from the kits so they could not be rewelded. and the vz kits has atf approval also. I don't mean to highjack or disrupt this fine thread.

I emailed you the other day about the sig amt project and if you remmeber I asked about the removal of the original receiver parts on the sig and you correctly stated that the stubs are brazed and welded in place so yes that rebuild would also require using the same receiver stubs.

are you/did you submit to the atf for the sig kit and the receiver kit DSA had, was that approved??????

I wouldn't worry about the ATF with this one.

The "once a machine gun, always a machine gun" wouldn't hold true to receiver scraps, or we'd be in trouble for buying all those other parts kits, like AMD's, AKM's, all the Yugo's, etc because they had pieces of machine guns attached to them. If it were true, then the OP would be in trouble not because he rewelded receiver scraps, but because he was 'in possession' of a MG when he took possession of the scraps.

The first couple sets of m70 plates should be in my hands by late this week. provided everything goes well, the first batch should be ready by the first of Feb. I need 20 sets as the min order. yugo m64 will be the next batch (price to be set when I have an idea of quantity) followed by russian type III(again price to be set when quantity is roughly determined) Please use vonzep58@yahoo.com to express interest and the type and quantity needed. ATF letter is still out there in limbo but I hope to have it soon (it has only taken 4-5 weeks in the past and we're way past that)

Shouldn't be any problem with the ATF when it comes to making your own. There is no difference between welding stubs to a homemade patch plate and riveting trunnions to a homemade receiver made from a flat.

But if you are going to sell patch plate, getting a letter from the ATF is probably a good idea (but probably not necessary). I think flat manufacturers sometimes get ATF concurrence. At least I think I remember the Yugo flats being delayed on account of not having gotten the official OK from ATF.

    FYI:

As of about 10 minutes ago, Southern Ohio Gun had (17) Yugo M70 milled underfolder kits left for $119. I got #18.

    Stock #SOG-YAKFKIT.
