LOL, I look mean enough without the AMD, add the AMD and they shake in their boots.
If I put the front grip they die in their tracks, and that ain't no fun.
I prefer the Krapow noise, Arrghhh Oh my heart, thump is no fun.

Thanks Gunny for the great Tutorial, been working on the old Blackhawk press to make it work. Wish I had your equipment, hard to explain to the wife why I need a drill press, lathe. etc. etc. for an electrical and ac business. Actually, I have a great wife and doesn't care as long as I can still pay bills. After my ammo orders [I] hope I still can. All my stuff is from AK-Builder, easy guy to talk to and ship is fast, awesome well built jig.

Nice sequence, I'm just starting my 65 build. It looks like you drill out the trunnion pin. Is this better than punching it out? I don't have a counter sunk bit, can I just start with a small bit and work up to the size just less than the pin?
    Thx
    Mike

I drill all the rivets to eliminate removal problems.
The barrel pin is pressed out and reused.

The barrel pins on the AMD65 aren't hard to get out, you should be able to knock it out with a good hammer and punch.

Thx guys, is the barrel pin tapered? Is it easier to get out from one side or the other?

They are not tapered, but from habit I always go from left to right, but it doesn't matter.

    Gunnysmith,
Thanks for the info. Very nice finished product.
I'm getting ready to do my first AK build, an AMD65. I'm still looking for a barrel though.
You didn't show pics of how you did the short rivets it the barrel trunion, what's the trick there?

Thanks for this post! I just picked up an AMD65 Kit. I have an Ohio Ordnance reciver for it allready. I can see that Im not to fond of the wire stock. What other options do I have?

If I put in a pistol rear trunnion is it considered a pistol AK?
