RULES:
--G'S ONLY!!!
--Please post all serials in one reply, as much as possible. I realize that some weapons may not be at your immediate disposal while others are, but please refrain from posting one serial per reply.
--Please, no auctions/for sales/photos of others' weapons. I don't want someone coming around and being all "TAKE THAT DOWN! I don't want my serial numbers exposed all over the internet!" Owners of the serial consent to my listing it by posting them here. Random auctions and other lists aren't consented by their owners, and I don't want anyone pissed at me.
--Please post in this fashion:

1980 XX XXXX
1980 X-XX XXXX
1981 X-XX XXXX
1986 X-XX XXXX

This just keeps the replies to a minimum, and it's easier for me to find where I left off.

Thanks,
- CK

So I was thinking... Nobody really knows that much about our rifles, aside from the year it was built and the year and month it was rebuilt...

I'm just sort of curious to see what kind of serial range these things have...

SO! If you've got a front trunnion that was originally a Romy G, please post the year and serial, how it's marked on the trunnion...

I'll go first:

1986 S-BT 3027
1986 S-BP 3244

Ya don't have to contribute, but it'd be nice if you did... With this comparison, we can nail down dates and eventually make a suggested month-of-manufacture chart... Also, it's hella neat...

That makes 30! :D

Also, please remember that you can always go back and edit the numbers out of your post once I've put them up on the list. :)

To my knowledge, a lot of european and asian countries use alpha characters for month and date codes... At least they do in the Automotive industry.

Typically, a date code would be ordered : Year, Month, then day, followed by the serial.

#41 ·
The S-code prefixes were used after the Romanians ran out of two-letter prefixes in 1980. The S-prefix wasn't solely used with "G" models or any other.

#45 ·
How did you place the order? Online (fax) or by phone?

BTW, the only listing I could find was at Specials with kits listed for $159.99, but the page is listed as:

Last Updated on
Mon., Mar 19, 108

What year 108 is I don't know, but it's only March 14 here so the closest year would be 2008. The page is at least 1 year old. Some kyimports pages reference 2004, so who knows?

Going by the similar Romanian serial thread on AK Forum, the 1983 and 1984 kits are more uncommon than some and less uncommon than others. By that same measure, it looks like 1986 kits are the most common.

Started a running total. :)
