Good reading as the upcoming ban will be worse.

Freedom is not free. Some will perish to preserve it for the many. Just as our Forefathers did before us, we must take up the battle and not waver. Victory is our only option.

I know this has been asked before but I can't find it, where does a imported belt feed mechanism, feed tray and belts fall in the 10 imported parts count?? Like used on a MG53 kit or a MG1 or RPD top cover and feed tray used on MG47 AK based build?? There is no magazine body, follower or magazine floor plate.

The belt or links are not part of the rifle and so those are not counted.
As for the other parts, the best way to get this question answered is to ask the BATFE. It might also be possible to get an answer by studying a factory built belt fed rifle like the RPD.

Good points ACM, also look at how others have done their MG42 builds since those are also classed as a shoulder fired weapon and must meet 922r compliance.

here's a new one. What if your flat was stamped out, in say... Bulgaria.

It's NOT a receiver, per the BATF letter. It's a flat.

Ok, so you take the "flat" and roll it up here in the US, making it a receiver. A US Made receiver.

    Make sense?

Goes to show how ridiculous the import ban is, and a potential loop hole for cheap foreign made BIY "parts". Or, did I just open a can of worms....?

I'm building a Rumy G and looking at the following for compliance: (Bold = imported)

    >>>(modified from previous post)
And building a Romanian kit the following would be OK:
    (1) Receiver
    (2) Barrel
    (3) Trunnion
    (4) Slant muzzle break
    (5) Bolt
    (6) Bolt carrier
    (7) Gas piston US Made Gas Piston
    (8) Trigger G2 FCG
    (9) Hammer G2 FCG
    (10) Disconnecter G2 FCG
    (11) Buttstock
    (12) Pistol grip US Made Pistol Grip
    (13) Forearm handguards
    >>>

It looks like I don't need to use as many US parts as I'm planning. If that's the case, what's the point of changing the gas piston?

Along with the 6 imported parts in bold, you will also have 3 more imported parts as soon as you plug in a mag, that gives you 9 total. You could leave the imported piston in there and still meet your 10 part limit.
