    Default Barrel extension?

I'am going to be building a krink and I need to use a barrel extension, does the extension need to pinned or can it just be soldered? Thanks

If you use silver solder with a melting point over 1100 degrees you are good to go. search jewelry making supply houses. However if the extension is aluminum, pinning is your only option

Pinning is by "blind pin" and must also be welded over.

    From the ATF FAQ page>

Permanent methods of attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100F) silversoldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over.
Barrels are measured by inserting a dowel rod into the barrel until the rod stops against the bolt or breech-face. The rod is then marked at thefurthermost end of the barrel or permanently attached muzzle device, withdrawn from the barrel, and
    measured.
