Default home built Beryl rear trunnion

Couldn't find one anywhere, so I built my own. Made a base for the optic mount to sit on, welded it into a notch cut into the tang. Drilled and tapped a hole for the anchoring stud(made from a grade 8 bolt), and notched it. Welded on a piece of square stock underneath for the third rivet, drilled a hole. I'll post pics of the finished rifle soon.

Nice Dew! Grade eight was the finishing touch. Did the heat get to the bolt? Shouldn't matter tho. I used to sell grade nines on occasion. High rise window cleaners and jail cell builders used em.

Put the bolt in last. Threaded it in with a little jb weld to secure it next to forever!

Sometimes ya just got to build what you need. It's coming out good! Just for a bit of uniqueness, why not bead blast and heat treat it with a oil quench giving it that case hardened look?

I've often wondered why I've never seen a all case hardened look AK before? I think that would be cool as hell IMO and something very unique.

Stop it, t! Now you got me thinking about another build! Maybe instead of building another I'll case harden one of my beaters. And I'm not talking about my dick beaters, so get your mind out of the gutter.
