The State Senate voted Wednesday evening to pass House Bill 257, originally a small measure to allow constables to carry guns in courthouses. The bill that passed the Senate would allow concealed weapons to be carried on public transportation and in restaurants, and is expected to be a vehicle in a conference committee for other attempts to loosen restrictions on pistol permit holders.
