    Default 2nd Try (Romanian)

Here's a photo of my 2nd build. Little different than the first, as far as stock finish, but basically all the same parts have been added or replaced:

Riveted Romanian kit from Scott @ DPH Arms
    Global Armory 1 mm receiver
    G2 FCG
    USA-made Gas Piston
    USA-made Slant Brake from Global
Scarlet Rit dye mixed with Dark Walnut stain for the furniture
Lower Romanian hand grip shaved off

This kit seemed to be in better shape than my first so I left all the metal original. Maybe I'll touch it up with some cold blue where it's needed.

Scarlet Rit dye with a little dark walnut stain. Then several coats Tru-Oil gunstock finish with sanding in between each coat. The last few coats, I used real fine steel wool.

Very nice, wood looks great. TruOil is a little more work, but in the long run, it's worth it.

Yours looks great! I think I'll do the shave treatment on my next Rommy kit. I still have not warmed up to the looks of that front grip setup. I got enough Rommy kits, I can do one to original specs later.
