Default Builds 3, 4, and 5 done. PMKMS, AIM and AIMS

Had the chance to do some builds last weekend. My buddy who just came back from Iraq came over on his leave. We did two for him and one for me.

    His were PMKMS and AIM:

Using this picture (thanks Templar) for inspiration:

    I built myself an AIMS:

Finish on all is Caswell Plating's pre-dip blackener followed by Shooter's Solutions Heavy Duty Manganese Phosphate park. This combo turned out GREAT! The park was so perfect, smooth and black, that we decided not to use the Norrels Molyresin over it.

These were built on Ewbanks Gen2 receivers. Beats the hell out of a flat for effort involved!

Any specifics on the finish procedure? I have been researching the Casewell product myself, not familiar with the Shooters solution parkerize. Also, did you refinish the complete rifle, or just the receiver? All 3 are great looking builds, hope they shoot as good as the look.

I did a review of both products and posted a step by step tutorial, it is posted in the library here.

Thank you sir! I found it and it has all the information I need. Looks like it would be a good idea to have a few things ready to treat to really make it worth the time. Do the left over chemicals store well? Any special disposal procedures?
These 3 builds really have me fired up to use this process, I can't get over how good they look!

    Thanks!

I was amazed when I saw the results. The whole thing was a hell of a lot easier than I expected. That pre-dip blackener is some of the coolest stuff I've seen. Just drop in the part & you can watch it turn BLACK.

Had to order some more. I'm building ten PMKMS over the next couple weeks. Should be fun!
