Here are some fairly crappy pics of my latest build.
It started as a AMD63 kit and I shortened the barrel some and welded the 74 sight base and brake on.
Used a G2 fcg, Ace receiver blank,
floorplate, follower and piston meet the US requitments.

Nice job! That stock set looks badass. How did you get that worn look? Or is it just a old set?

Thanks. The stock set were all new but from different makers. I stripped them and tried staining them but the stain didn't take very well so they ended up like that. I thought they looked kinda different and liked it so I kept it that way. The stock and grip are AMD 63 so they were a blond color and the hadguard were a redish for the upper and lower but two different shades.

Chuck the wood really is nice! That was the first thing that caught my eyes. What exactly did you use to get it like that?

I have to agree that the wood looks awesome. Also the idea with the 74 sight base and brake is neat too.

    Thanks guys.
I used some ebony stain from lowels.Think it was minwax brand. After I stripped the laquer or whatever they used at the factory I lightly sanded it and applied the stain letting it sit for a while. Not sure why it came out like it did but it is different. lol
I have a standard 63 in the works so I wanted something a little different so on went the 74 parts.

Lowels, or Lowes? Is Ebony the type of color?

Ebony is the color that was listed on the label. It is minwax brand. Got it from Lowe's but home depot also carries it. Just the Lowe's is closer. lol
