    Default My first build

Today I finished my first build. A tapco flat on a 1980 romy. The wood needs to be refinished and the top rails trimmed a bit but other than that it is ready to go. Big thanks to Paul(PAC762) for all his help and use of tools. Can't wait to test her out!

I decided to go with the thumbhole because i have another AK being built for me by GT and that will have the regular stock...figured i'd change it up a bit...I'm thinking about stripping this set and dying it with RIT, not sure what color but i'm thinking blue...and I think i will be using alumahyde on the metal...thanks guys, feels good to finally be a part of the building community....just hope trimming the upper rails goes well...i hear that is one of the most difficult parts.

thanks Paul, i still haven't gotten around to cutting the rails... don't have calipers on hand, plus there is 16" of snow here so i couldn't get to the range anyway...once again thanks for all of your help, i had an awesome day..definitely getting more kits

No problem. Glad I could help. I actually just finished spraying finish on my "cursed" romanian build, so it will hopefully be ready in a few days. Drop me a line whenever if you want to come over and build another.

Nice job with the build! Don't let anyone dog your choice of furniture. To each his own and you own that one
