Default Feasability of building a Valmet-style rifle?

Is it feasible to build one of these beauties? I got to see one a week or so back and it's a thing of perfection stylistically and I want one! Can something that at least looks like this be built?

I have seen "Galil" projects, but no Valmet clones. Most start with a Norinco Hunter and go from there. Which series are you interested in copying?

    Doable, but expensive.

The Rk. 95 with a fixed stock. I've seen tons of galil-ish builds, but I just love the looks of a Valmet, so I totally want to build one.

Any idea where to find parts for it?

Can't say I've ever seen a Valmet parts kit, but Galil kits and milled recievers for them are available. The israelis developed the Galil using the Valmet as a starting point, you'd essentially be reversing the process. You want 7.62x39 or 5.56? Valmets came in both flavors, Galils were 5.56 or 7.62 NATO. Assuming 5.56 and you can find Valmet furniture, there's not a whole lot that'd be different and you would have no problem selling the Galil stuff you didn't use.

I guess no one makes Valmet style handguards, gas tubes, pistol grips, etc for standard AK's, do they?

I like the Galil idea though. It's just going to be EX-PEN-SIVE!

    Yep, hence my initial comment.

As far as finding the proper furniture, I'd post a question regarding it here. If anybody can get it, those guys can.

Lastly, there's always Gunbroker. There are 4 Valmet rifles up at present, ranging from $1250 to $2500
