    Default RPK-74 builds coming along

Working two RPK-74 builds in parallel - sorta.

I went back and refinished the wood in a lighter color after seeing the Romy 555th and BigAl did. Really liked the lighter color wood.

RPKS is lagging behind the wood version. The RPKS sidefolder rear trunnion is completely different than the other sidefolders I've seen and a bit more difficult to install but at least it doesn't have a front latch to also put in.

All work done by yours truly........good or bad

    Both look great.

Did you do the engraving and selector ticks? They look very nice.

My wood stock RPK74 kit & receiver are still sitting in a box waiting for me to get started.

Yep, done did it all. First time I tried the selector marking punches. I bought them a while back. Used my shop press after practicing with some english stamps. Also tried using BFH, but didn't have the control as well as using a press. Ticks were done with a Dremel.

I really want a RPK-74s like yours with that exact mag. I'm even willing to pay the crazy Russians price to get that folding stock. 2 really nice pieces, well done!
