Default ROMY AK On The Way!

Okay, I don't know if you consider this a First Build. Or a "Build" at all for that matter.

But I have a Romy AK Kit on the way for Chirstmas. For my First try I am going with a 100% Reciever. I wanna get used to the de-milling and some other stuff before I get to complicated.

I have also bought an extra barrel and front trunion. For my Next Build. Hopefully on an 80%. Figured I would ge the front end now and work on the other stuff later.

But it will be going on a NoDak Reciever. DPH Romy Kit.

Of course. The whole family needs one, right?

I will buying up as many front ends as I can aford in the next month. I just wanna get good at building. The first one will be more to have one. The rest will be about seeing what kind of mayhem I can produce.

I am going to make some custom stocks for the second one. Get out the old wood burner and do some engraving. Should be interesting.

Glad to hear your planning ahead.
My $.02 on the barrels with trunions, I think you should just spend the extra few bucks and get full kits. The bolt carriers alone go for $40+.

I heard new kits are coming in with the barrels de-milled.

I bought the barrel just in case.

I am going to buy at least one more, maybe two.

    Grrrr!!!!

Some billing snags have made for some delays getting my kit. I was hoping to get my kit today. Then I found out it only got shipped today because of a billing address problem.

It is fixed though and the guy on the phone says I will see it next Tuesday.

Until then, enjoy some shooting of other people's AK's:

Today is supposed to be the day. I am all on edge waiting for my kit.

I spent last night helping another AK be born. We finished all but cosmetic work on my friends AK. It should be ready to shoot by nightfall.

It was a U-drive Screw build. So we will see how it goes. I am thinking of building my first with the U-drive screws. So we can pound a ton of rounds through it and see how it fares.

IF we can prove the U-drive screws either worthy or not. I think we will have done a service. Either way, I wanna know how well they work.

Here is a picture of the one we made last night. I will take more tonight when it is all together. And of course dome more of it being shot.
