    Default yugo/romanian ak build

moved to here. i had posted it in the wrong place.

    yugo/romanian ak build

new romanian kit front trunion forward.
romanian bolt, cover, and trunion all matching #'s
    new yugo underfolder kit rear.
    nodak receiver. NDS-M92
tapco fcg, hammer, trigger ( double), sear.
    tapco slant break.
    wasr black pistol grip.(u.s. made)
    tapco gas piston.
    new china mag.
romanian wasr upper and lower handguards. (black waxed stained)
    parked (black) the receiver.
lots of fitting to get it to work right, it will be easier next time.

i have built several romanian "g" kits ak's and several yugo underfolder ak kit rifles and just wanted to build something a little different.

    it shoots very good.

i am going to use 2 yugo fronts for 2 iraq tabuk builds later on this year after i get my barrels from cole at the end of july. the barrels on the yugo underfolder kits are not much good and i traded them for some other parts.
NOTE: i am looking for 2 yugo rear fixed stock stamped trunions to buy.

i still have an hungarian and polish rear "stamped" underfolder kit section that i am going to use the romanian "g" kit fronts on for builds. i will use a different nodak receiver for them. the hungarian and polish are almost the same. "Model NDS-1P with plate"

i am also going to build 2 more of the yugo/romanians "g" underfolders later. the next one's i will use the yugo top cover on them for easier fit. on the yugo/romanian underfolder build fitting:
the top romanian cover needs a slot cut in the rear trunion to fit down in and lock in place. the rear trunion needed a little fitting to get the holes to line up better. ( the yugo rear trunion is very close to the romanian trunion, but not quite the same.

it appears that we may be building ak's from different spare parts kits in the future if we want to continue to build. i guess for the purist this is not going to work. sorry about that.
keep in mind that a lot of ak's used around the world were built from parts from other countries and rebuilt from spare parts from other countries.

Have a Romy G kit waiting for a build. Where can I get a laminated handguard ? Don't care for the pistol grip version.

i had a set left over from a romanian WASR i had. i am not much of a fan of the "G" handguards. i have seen several that have been reshaped and they looked very good. i may try to do one later.

just put a WTB on this site, someone may have an extra set to sell. good luck.

Looks great. I don't understand the differences in the kits and what parts are different. Sources?
