    Post Romy AK Basic.

O.K. took this Romy and other than a little cleaning up just left it close to battlefield and left it be.
Left the scars and wounds and what not be as they are.
Wondering if anyone else is doing the same? We have gone over this before but maybe, just maybe in the future if someone will be looking for an unfinished AK.

Edit. Sorry should have put the dishes away.

A more-or-less "as issued" rifle has a definite appeal. We all love those hand-rubbed, spotless finishes, but show me a real battle weapon with that kind of finish.

    Good build!

4th - looks better built than those I've seen at the fun-shows.

now go beat it up a little on the range and report back!

    Post Thanks

Have to laugh, in away, at what we call battlefield pickup here.
The guys from Iraq and Afghanistan could probably show us some picts of what they have seen.
I should have taken more pictures of the AKs in Cambodia. Good God I could not believe what those guys were carrying.
They looked like they were dragged behind a truck for a 1000 miles. But I bet the darn things still shot straight.
Duct tape. Your battlefield look is not complete unless you have duct tape wrapped on some part of the weapon. No B.S. they must get issued duct tape when they get issued there weapons.

Looks nice 4th, I like the "as issued" & "battlefield pick up" looks.

Both weapons look sweet...You can throw them in your truck and use them and not worry about your GunKote or Duracoat finish being scratched...Truely usable weapons not safe queens.
You've convinced me to build one the same way...Very nice, congrats.

    Looks good!

I started my "Romy beater" as a knock-around gun, and it ended up being one of the nicest guns I have!
