You know I really do not know. Many years ago when I was young I was a pretty good shot with open sites.
Then when I went in the Army on my tropical adventure They trained us in a course on point and shoot.
Silhouette targets out to a 100yds would pop up and we had to take an instant shot at it. No sites just get the feel of the weapon and shoot.
Now that I cant see a damn thing up close anymore I cant use open sites.
So I either have to use glasses to see the sites or the target, not both.
It really does work once you get the feel of where your weapon is hitting.
I tried to show my buddy how to do it and he did not believe me.
We put some cardboard plates on the dirt berm at 100yds.
Without using the sites I was able to hit the plate almost consistently.
For anything of farther range sites would become a must.
Next time you go to the range give it a try. Takes some getting used to. But with practice you become one with the weapon.
I wonder if the Military is still teaching it?

    Nice build.
I was to slow at getting any of the Polish kits, prices shot up before I got any.

    Post Thanks Guys.

Coils myself also. Late on the Polish AKs.
I grabbed a bunch of the Hungarians but somehow skipped over the Polish AKs.
    Wish I had grabbed more.
Went to visit my FFL a month ago. Good friend of mine.
He knows I like AKs so he says "I have this kit. Would you be wanting it?"
How much? Does $250.00 sound fair. Uh yep.
The wood was frozen solid on the gas tube. I mean like unmovable. Rather than destroy it trying to get if off I just left it be.
Still have the one I got from the Chiefs friend yet to build. But yes they are quality AKs.

Nice picture of the standing on end with the bayonet. Fit and finish looks awesome. Wish I hadn't passed up the polish kits in my area.

    Yes. Thank you guys.
Me too. Dag blast it. Back when they were cheap I passed them up. But for real the Polish AKs rock. Oh there are a couple of minor fubars here and there. But like I told Pirate the other day in our conversation. I put the good side toward the camera.
In studying them you really can see the quality of craftsmanship they put into the building of there AKs.
Wish I bought more of them in the old days. Oh well.

There are very few guns that I look and say just think they're a notch above the rest. Polish guns, though it's the same AK a lot of us love, seem to be one of these guns. Maybe they took time to actually build these guns, they do turn out really nice.

Can you compare quality of Polish AK to any other?
