BTW, I finally got with Dennis @ GM, and have my M70 barrel on the way. Thanks for the info!!
You will be most pleased with it.
I am awaiting a ARMS mount for my Aimpoint CompML3 that I'm putting on my M70.
Yes, the barrel is accurate enough for me to spring for that kind of optic for it.
With a cheapo red Dot I shot this at 100 yards>>>

I attribute the three low, and two left to the dot being in a different spot in the sight tube. The Aimpoint being parallax free should remedy this.
I will post some pictures of my results when she's sighted in (mount comes Monday).

Keep up the great work! You can never bring too many AKs back to life.

Hey Nico, this M70 is my first milled receiver build. With that new GM barrel, plus the rigidity of the milled receiver, I hope to have some decent groupings. I can't wait!!!! Waiting on a few parts, but should have it ready to test within about 2 weeks.

    Right there with ya bud.
This was my first re-weld of a milled receiver as well.
Mount, and optics are in, and installed......Just waiting on a day off work I can get out to sight in, and range test it (hopefully light to no wind).
I will update with pictures after I do.

    Update:
Was a bit windy today but I had a chance to go shooting, and sight in the Aimpoint.
Was shooting 10 shot groups at 100 yards of Wolf Military Classic 124 gr FMJ sitting holding the rifle.

Can't wait for a windless day to really see what she can do!
