Default Heat Free AMD65 Gastube end flaring

While trying to come up with a better way to flare out a Full Size Gas tube after being cut to length for an AMD 65,

I really didn't want to have to heat it up red hot and beat it out. And seeing one or two that didn't come out too well and hearing horror stories of the ends of the tubes cracking from being hammered.
I stopped to ponder a bit.
Actually I went to Autozone to pick up a set of feeler guages to check my headspace with.
Right next to the guages(almost) was a "Tube End Flaring tool."
I thought that that would be PERFECT!
Problem was it was $25 and the largest hole was only 5/8" dia. and the hole needed to be closer to 3/4" and then it steps up to almost 13/16" closer to the wood.
So I ran to Lowes to see if they had one with larger Dia. holes.
They didn't, but, theirs was only $10 so I bought it thinking that if it didn't work, I saved $15.

Well, I drilled out the center two holes out to 3/4" and hogged out the lower half to fit, with a Dremel\sanding wheel\Router attachment, and opened up the top part just a bit to allow for taping of the tube end to protect the paint\metal.

Then I cut off the end of a 3/8 ext. and popped off the Cone shaped end off the flaring tool and used a 6" C Clamp.
I used the Cone shaped end to start the flaring and the Ext. end to expand the tube.

Results were perfect with no Torching no hammering and honestly minimal effort.
I tried using the Flaring tool itself which is not pictured but even after grinding it into shape to fit around the handguard it still was not large enough. That's where the C Clamp came in.

Here's some pics of the process and the end product.
I'm pleased to say the least.

    So, what do ya think?

Yep, that's a good way to do it. The last one I done was done with a sledge-hammer and a large pry-bar. Your way is much more definate and precise. I like it
