Default AMD63 finally back on the ball....

AMD63 with 65 side folder. I screwed up a little and cut the blank short in the back. But, is does not look bad with the 65 rear trunion. I still have to mount lower rails and finish the rear truinon. I'm getting close to having my first build done 17 months after I started! Now I have to figure out what to do about rails? Anyone want to lend me a spot welder?

Thanks for the offer, I need to get some rails too! I thought I had a set, but they are no where to be found.

I have 3 receivers to build and I want to spot weld all of them at once and get it over with. Someone will pop up or I might have to go buy one.

Got my cheap-o MIG here in NN VA... c'mon down!

Oh I'm also welding an economy flat-bending jig - nothing fancy, just a plain 'ol jig. So bring any flats down w/ you.

pookie.. do you use your mill to run the upper rails down to size?? I experimented using my bending jig to hold the receiver true to the mill and stabilze it better... to prevent ruining my bending jig if my mill goes wacky.. I made a mini bending jig out of 3/16 steel.. my first attempt was out of 1/4, but somewhere along the line I misaligned the jig and it was .007 out of square.. 3/16 was cheaper and it only has to support agianst the pressure of the end mill.

Just curious how you are doing it??

All I've done is weld the outer frame - no center block yet.
