    Default Stainless Screw Finishing

Hi, I'm new here. Was referred by a memeber of Survivor's SKS Boards. Lots of good info here.

Anyone know of a good way to finish the heads of stainless steel screws? I just put together a screw build with stainless hardware and am trying to find a way to darken them.

    Thanks,
    Ken

If you used the stainless button head screws, all you need is aluma-hyde II. Make sure you rough up the button with some 180 grit paper first.

I like the idea of the stainless contrast. you can always darken them later . how about a pic.

    Ken,

First welcome to our little corner of the web.

For stainless, you are pretty much limited to some sort of a spray on finish since you can not park or blue it.

Alumahyde and gunkote are two good choices.
