    Any one use some thing other than Duracoat for diy coating with good results thx

    I've done one "G" AK receiver in BBQ rattle can paint, then baked it at 350 for an hour. It's not wicked tough, but a decent finish that's holding up well. That receiver is a bit botched, I blew through a bit on a couple of the lower rail spot-welds, so it's going to get a new receiver when I get around to it. It made no sense to me to use a better finish on a throw-away receiver.

    Just keep the coats thin, and spray onto a blasted, clean, and degreased part. Better too thin than too thick, you can always add more coats!
