Default Pine Tar Application on Laminate Wood

Here is a laminate AK-74 set that I just refinished using pine tar first, and then followed up with shellac mixed with dye, etc.

I just love how pine tar makes the darker areas of laminate wood pop and gives the wood a glowing effect.

Here is a set of AKS-74U hand guards that I used the pine tar method with. These ones weren't sanded a lot and I went for more of a dark red color.
