I picked up a century romy rpk this weekend. The furniture looks to be original laminated stuff, but it has a very dull brown look to it. I have a parts set that I picked up in excellent condition. The century units wood is very unappeling to me. I do not know what century did to the wood on it, it looks like it was sanded at the very least. I would like to get it to look more of the redish correct color of the wood in my romy rpk parts kit, as I believe that to be the original looking finish. I am somewhat unsure how to proceed. I'm not much of a wood worker, metal is more my thing.

Has anyone brought brownish looking wood back to the nice red look?

Seems like several have had good luck with red mahogany dye/stain. Should it be shellacked?

Thanks
Kyle
