gun-kote AK black
I want to know if any of the bake on products have a similar color available to the original black enamel from paint over park rifles?
That's an awesome Krink! What temp and how long did you cook it for?
I don't remember off the top of my head, I just followed the directions on the can. I have a can out in the shop, I could dig it out and let you know, if you'd like.
No, not a problem. I'll take a look on their site.
Have you guys had problems with GunKote? The FDE and tan suck. I have blasted cleaned and prepped as specified. I keep getting a gritty trash in corners. The black has been OK but not great. Thinking about going to moly resin.
As far as finish, I have an M76 from AWO that was finished with Gunkote and honestly it's pretty durable. The only wear I have is under the top cover where it sits on the receiver.
I have a PSL that I built and finished it with Duracoat and am very happy as well.
An upcoming FAL project is what I wanted to know about the enamel for.
Before I got set up to park, I painted everything. I tried them all at one time or another, the gun-kote gave me a tougher finish than any of the others. The finish was also excellent but, the only color I ever used was the AK black, so I can't comment on other colors.
Bill, Take a look at the link I posted above in post #3.
