I don't see the organized roadblocks or sweeps lasting very long. There's to much knowledge and resources just laying around to be abused and the population far excedes anything that can be controled by existing millitary and police forces in this country. There are to many looking for an oppertunity to "get even" or take advantage. I beleve it will resemble serbia at it's worst so quickly that any organization will be by local forces for good or bad. Outside forces will probably be minimal especialy after they've been bloodied a few times, just look to the existing "peace keeping" efforts by international coalitions (they sit in their compounds). The suffering and horrible living conditions faced by unprepared civilians who know only who won american idol or what oprah's book of the month is will be tragic. Diesease and starvation will overwhelm those in areas with damaged, disabled or destroyed infrastructure. The civil defense capabilities of this country are non existant. The worst problem I beleve will be local tyrants probably from elected positions attempting to sieze control and resources in the name of public good or to prevent "price gouging" I have no intention of starving or being incarcerated because I was prepared but "greedy" and wouldn't share. This is where the ugliness will start, I will not feed the meth or crack heads with my families food. I will not help those who didn't care for their own well being at the expense of my own. I have no problem helping those who want to and will take care of themselves. Theives and parasites will not be tolerated.
