    Default 922r compliance question..

I've read that there are 16 countable parts in an AK and one must not use more than 10 imported parts in a build. Since trunions are countable - and there are two trunions in each gun - wouldn't a builder need 7 US made parts to be legal?

the trunion they refer to is the piece that transitions the barrel to the receiver......the rear trunion, or what we call a rear trunion, isn't even counted......just like the recoil spring isn't counted

We call the rear stock mount a trunnion, but ATFE only considers the bbl mounting block a trunnion. 6 parts not 7 as the stock mounting block is not counted.

Default Thanks for the quick reply

I thought that was what they were talking about but since they refer to the piece that attaches the stock as a trunion I started to wonder how it was to be interpreted. Seems like someone is always trying to reinterpret a law! Thanks again.
