Question So when is a flat a reciever?

I was just looking at my AK-Builder flats I ordered Saturday and received yesterday, super fast delivery , and got the hankering to bend a few. Would these still be a piece of metal without the trunion holes, lower rails installed, or the upper rails trimmed or would they be a receiver? I'm thinking not a reciever because there is still a fair amount of work to be done. But it never hurts to ask I still need to buy kits to go with the flats though

    I think once it's bent it's a receiver.

As soon as you fold a receiver flat it is a firearm according to the Feds.

    That is correct.
Bent blank, no holes = hunk of metal
Flat with holes = hunk of metal
Bent with any holes = receiver
