Consumers forced the stores too put "Price per ounce" on items for sale.
This saves you from having too go too M.I.T. to figure out which item is the best buy.
People became accustomed, that the larger items of the same product are the best purchase.
Buy the bigger can, it's cheaper.
Read and use the "Price per ounce" Two of the smaller items can be cheaper than one large container. These stores aint stupid. Impulse buyers are.
Inflation. Hell yes. You used too be able to go into a store with a $20 bill and come out with food.
Now go in with a $100 bill and come out with noodles and butter. Dont even bother looking at the meat section.
