Some of the 80,000 could move to West Texas or South Texas, where there is very little unemployment. Leave the areas where there are no jobs and go to where the jobs are. Many of the unemployed are that way 'cause they want to be that way. They refuse to look "outside of the box" (or area) for a job. Same argument for those complaining about living in a high crime area... MOVE! Yes, there are families without work due to plant closures. Most plants do not close without warning. Too many bury their heads in the sand and fail to notice the glaring signs prior to job loss. Sorry Charlie, the union won't save your job.
There is a stark contrast to the poor in America compared to the poor elsewhere. Seems our poor are fat, as evident from the linked video. These differ remarkable to the bloated bellys of the poor and straving children in Africa or South America.
It is disconcerting to read such rhetoric in a prepper forum. If these folks had prepared, they would still have a stash and a plan. Such talk foreshadows what one would really do in a SHTF scenario; "The poor pitiful masses". The cold reality is, "Ya can't save everyone."
To those who can't afford gas to get to their minimum wage job: get a job at the McD's down the street, or ride a bicycle a couple of miles to a different McD's.
